Sundays at 11:00 a.m.

Our life together as a congregation is rooted in worship.  We gather each Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. to sing, pray, read scripture, and listen to our minister share the good news of God's inclusive love.  Some come dressed up, others dress casually.  ALL are welcome.  The Greek word for worship is "liturgia" - a public work undertaken by some on behalf of all.  In worship we turn to God on behalf of one another and the world.

Celebrating the Lord's Supper
(Eucharist/Communion)

Communion is central to worship at NCCCC. The focal point of our worship is gathering at the Lord's Table, where we share in the remembrance of the life of Jesus and God's love embodied in him.  ALL are welcome to partake of the bread and the cup -- doubter, seeker, believer alike.  If you have questions about participating in the Lord's Supper, please speak with our Minister.

Children in Worship

Children and youth join us for the opening of worship and then leave to attend age-appropriate Sunday School classes.  Under the guidance of our Family Life Ministries, children and youth share activities that open to them the stories of the Bible and God's people of faith.

Worship Leadership

Disciples practice the "priesthood of all believers," which means  that men, women, children and youth regularly lead in worship and participate in the ministry of the church.  On most Sundays our Minister presides and preaches.  Our Director of Music and Organist  leads and accompanies our Adult Choir, who gather prior to worship to rehearse (September through May).  Our Elders offer prayers at the table, and the Worship Leader leads the congregation in the liturgy (responsive readings and scripture).

Our Diaconate receive the offering that is taken each Sunday, and they assist the Elders in the distribution of the elements of communion (the bread and the cup).

The Sanctuary Windows

Our sanctuary windows were created by the Pickel studio artists who used the oscillating paths as a road map to guide the worshiper along the way.  The dominance of the yellows, ranging from clear to gold express the "powers of darkness that yield to the Light."
