Family Life Ministries
  • Infants-Toddlers -- receive loving care, stories, and safe play with
    competent attendants in newly refurbished rooms
  • Children/Youth (ages 5 to 17) participate in worship services and
    Sunday School.   bible classes with videos and the sharing of what it
    means to live their lives following Christ
  • Adult Christian Education-- Joy Class:   Sunday morning Bible class
    for older adult.  Other adult educational opportunities are offered on a
    periodic basis.  
  • Shrinemont Fall Retreat -- First weekend of October, this retreat
    features worship services and activities, games, time for reflection and
    discussions regarding spiritual awareness, leisure and social activities.  
  • Fall Festival in October -- An out-door event (October) open to the
    Chevy Chase community that includes food, pony rides, games, crafts,
    and other entertainment created in 2004 to help introduce local residents
    to church activities.  The festival takes place after Sunday worship service
    and is on church grounds.  Neighborhood merchants  provide sponsorship
    for the free event.

Stephen Ministry --  a Christ-centered ministry of presence by lay persons in
the congregation, this confidential, one-to-one care is available to all in our
church home and in the community are experiencing all of life's joys and
challenges.  If you would like someone to talk to, to walk the journey with you,
call and you will be matched to one of our well-trained, compassionate Stephen
Ministers.

Tuesday Prayer Group -- Each week members of this group spend time in
reflection and prayer for those in need of God’s assistance and comfort. Prayers
are provided for church members, but also for those at the community and
national levels.  A Fellowship lunch follows each meeting.

Second Tuesday Bible Study -- On the second Tuesday each month, a group
meets for Bible Study.  Discussion, video presentation and reflection makes this
a time of insight and exploration.

Music Ministries
  • A dedicated group of choir members provide service music for the 11am
    service
  • A vocal ensemble periodically provides a variety of musical styles in
    worship and
  • A small instrumental ensemble offers its gifts periodically throughout the
    year

Director
Praying Hands Yarn Group  -- A  knit  & crochet service donating time and
expertise.  Promotes fellowship and charity projects.  Members make shawls,
scarves, lap and baby blankets for members of NC4 and the greater community.
 The items are intended to bring comfort in times of both sorrow and joy.  The
members have also prepared layette kits for Church World Service, which have
included hand-made baby blankets.  Each item is blessed by the group before it
goes to its new owner.

Going Green at NC4 -- A  team that works toward greening (with recycling) the
church and making recommendations to bring greening into our everyday lives.  
Takes on environmental projects.
