Get Involved

Our Ministries

NC4 seeks to be a place where people are transformed by the depth of God's love for them. We realize that everyone is on their own spiritual journey. We also believe in the transformative power of community. So we invite you join us as we seek God's love together in a way that works best for you.

Study Group

The Church offers opportunities to learn from one another through small group study, facilitated dialogues, and prayer. Short-term ad hoc study series are convened at various times throughout the year. Led by one or more members of the congregation or clergy, these themed study groups usually include a video and lively discussion.

Prayer Team

Help us lift up our church and community by joining our Prayer Group. Our weekly prayer group, which convenes via Zoom at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, provides an opportunity for participants to actively pray for members of the congregation, their families, friends, and others, as well as share their understanding of prayer and its power in their lives. We would love to have you join us!

Music & Arts

North Chevy Chase Christian Church is blessed with a wealth of musical talent---both professional and amateur. Our Adult Choir sings at least twice a month. On performance Sundays, rehearsals are held before worship from 9:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.  In addition, we often supplement our choir offerings with soloists and various ensembles including the Jazz Quartet. We invite you to add your voice or instrument to enrich our music ministry!

Community Outreach

Connecting Faith with Community

We believe that God has called us to be agents of wholeness in a fragmented world. As such, we seek to serve those in need through social justice, outreach, and service. We understand that, together, we can make a difference in our community, our state and country, and even the world. We offer many different ways to get involved with the missions and ministries we support. Members are encouraged to connect their faith to their community, wherever they reside. We invite you to get involved and join your talents with ours to serve God and spread the Good News.

Hunger Ministry Partnerships

St. Paul's United Methodist Church Food Bank

NC4 is partnering with St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Kensington to help address the hunger gap. They are seeking the following items: pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, cereal, and soup.  Please, no glass containers or expired items. Contributions can be left in the glassway.

New Leaf Shelter Dinner

On the second Friday of the month, we provide dinner for 15 residents at the New Leaf Shelter in Rockville. Two volunteers are needed to prepare and deliver the dinner.

Diaper Bank Ambassador

NC4 is now a drop off location for donations to the Greater D.C. Diaper Bank.  The Diaper Bank supports vulnerable families in Greater DC by collaborating with distribution partners to provide essential baby and hygiene products. Donations can be dropped off in the blue bin outside the office/glassway door of the church. A complete list of items needed is available at the Great DC Diaper Bank website

Hospitality

We also believe we are called to extend hospitality to those in our community. Our church provides space to two congregations and nearly a dozen community organizations ranging from Alcoholics Anonymous to Meals on Wheels. Interested in using our facility?

Social Justice & Service

North Chevy Chase Christian Church adults and youth support a variety of local, national, and international organizations that work to help those in need. We also provide opportunities for members to learn about social justice issues such as violence, mass incarceration, and poverty through on-site programs and through participation in events held throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Our commitment to outreach includes providing monetary and in-kind support as well as engaging in hands-on projects to help others.

Contemplative Public Space

Pray, reflect, take a mental health break on our grounds

We are privileged to have a wonderful green space that offers a quiet haven in a busy city. You are invited to take a mental and spiritual health break by taking advantage of our labyrinth to pray, our memorial garden to find some quiet reflection, or our lawn to enjoy the grass in the spring or the snow in the winter.

When life gets busy and our minds are racing, come find some contemplative peace on our grounds.
