Music
North Chevy Chase Christian Church is blessed with a wealth of musical talent---both professional and amateur. Our Adult Choir sings at least twice a month. On performance Sundays, rehearsals are held before worship from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and after coffee fellowship from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We also have a Vocal Ensemble that practices bi-weekly during the fall and winter months and performs throughout the year including at the Kensington Ministerium Thanksgiving Service. The Instrumental Ensemble practices on the same schedule and performs throughout the year.
In addition, we often supplement our choir offerings with soloists and various ensembles including the Jazz Quartet. We invite you to add your voice or instrument to enrich our music ministry!
Arts
The Church also regularly incorporates many forms of art into worship. Examples include plays and dramatic readings, slide shows and videos, lectures, and in-sanctuary paintings, drawings, and other art forms. During Easter 2017, the Stations of the Cross and Laments woodcut prints by Margaret Adams Parker graced the Sanctuary. These images contemplated Jesus' Passion and reflected on the suffering in the world for which Jesus died.
